I will never forget—nor will many people around the world—that scene of U.S. President Biden arriving in Israel shortly after October 7, sitting in Tel Aviv while watching Israeli and American aircraft bomb hospitals across Gaza. At that moment, it became clear to all of us that a large-scale genocide against the Palestinian people was being prepared in Gaza. And indeed, it happened. The most horrifying event of the 21st century.
A rule should be introduced that whenever the Holocaust is commemorated in Europe and other parts of the world, attention should also be paid to the genocide in Gaza, as a reminder that even a people who have gone through the horrors of genocide can commit that same genocide against another people.
