1. Saturday: If one feels trouble and falls ill on Saturday, the effects are of malefic Saturn. Effects will be felt for eight days. One will feel troubled, the whole body will be heavy, feel thirsty and one will sleep peacefully. If the boy or child falls ill he will weep day and night and will not take milk which indicates that his or her mother had fed him with milk before another lady and the child is the victim of the evil eye and one has to suffer for seven days. 2. Sunday: A person facing troubles or falling sick on Sunday will experience the same for 14 days, and then will recover. The reasons can be not wearing adequate clothes and overeating some white food. He will feel feverish and have headaches. Fell restlessness during day and night. His eyes will be red and his face will be pale. He will avoid talking to anybody and will feel fear in dreams. The remedy will be curd, rice, used cloth of the person affected, or seven chapattis rubbed with oil be donated. The day lord is the sun.

3. Monday: The day lord is Moon. The patient will remain in bed for a fortnight. The reason for his illness can be due to evil eye, overeating of white-colored food. If the man is sick, he will feel headaches, a disordered stomach, and pain in the body. In such a case turmeric and red vermillion be applied to the person. A white hen, 1 (1/4) kg of sesame, one white chicken, mustard oil, and 1 (1/4) Masha silver are to be donated.

4. Tuesday: The day lord is Mars. The patient will remain in bed for ten days. The illness can be due to some soul, which may be present in his house or there is some tree in the house where the soul resides. The indications of illness are that person feels pain in the belly and umbilicus, and there is shivering in the body. One could donate a cloth of red color 1.25 meters, red lentils, Baranj, Kanjad, a few flowers of a pomegranate tree, one cloth worn by patient seven kilos wheat, 1 (1/4) kilos mustard oil, and one red chicken after showing to the patient.

5. Wednesday: The day lord of Mercury. The person falling sick on Wednesday indicates that one will feel pain in the back, chest, and headache. One should donate food goaded with ghee, a four-meter-long cloth, a small quantity of silver, one egg, and one white chicken. In the case of a boy make a lamp of flour with four wicks and ghee. Lit this lamp and throw it in the river. Also donate salt, moth (a kind of kidney bean), and baranj.

6. Thursday: The day lord is Jupiter. One will remain in bed for ten days. The indication is a pain in the waist, head, and umbilicus, one will feel fear in sleep. In such cases donate red chicken yellow red and black colored pieces of cloth, mehndi (myrtle) leaves, 0.25 kg wheat, and a small quantity of silver.

In case a boy falls ill he will not have to breastfeed his mother, will vomit after taking anything, continuous weeping, his color will gradually become yellow. In such case make a lamp of barley flour with four wicks, and lit it with gee. Prepare kheer (mixture of rice and milk) and flow it in the river after showing it to the patient, kheer should be donated.

7. Friday: The person falling ill on Friday will remain in bed for 11 days. One should feel inactiveness in body, headache, red eyes, and murmuring in dreams. Collect dust from four places where four crossings meet or ash from the cemetery or cremation ground, the blood of the white goat, these two mixed together. On one deep mash floor, a small quantity of turmeric and vermillion be collected. All these items are to be put in a new earthen pot after wrapping in black cloth and should be thrown in the river. One should also donate one loaf of 1/4 kg small quantity of silver and 1 (1/4) yards with a cloth.

If a boy falls ill then one should burn the air or tail of a crow or chicken and the body be put to this smoke. One should donate kheer after completing the whole exercise.

Removing negative energy

A lot of readers come to me asking about neutralisation of the effects of black magic, since I don’t have time to address individual cases, I will hereby present ways in which you can help yourself. Therefore, in order to eliminate the effect of negative energy (spells, evil eyes, astral attacks, energy vampires, etc) on a yellow piece of paper write using red ink these seven signs of Arabic magic, writing from right to left. According to the sayings of numerous Sheiks, but also other prominent spiritual authorities, there is no religious hurdle for a talisman to be used in a healing treatment, especially with spiritual diseases.

Talismans cure numerous issues and diseases caused by evil invisible creatures, various bodily diseases, madness, blindness, epilepsy, for which it is claimed among the Bosnian folk that it most frequently appears in surroundings where there is the highest concentration of black magic, headaches, infertility, depression, unknown diseases, high blood pressure, etc. Also, talismans can be used to positively influence lawsuits, when searching for a job, to return a loved person, finding your soul mate, calming down marital disputes and the like.

The name amulet (hamail) and talisman (tilsum or talsam) come from the Arabic language and through Greeks, like many other terms they came into Europe and got domesticated in dictionaries and tradition. Talismans are considered to be more powerful than prayers since they have the specificity to prolong the effect of god’s holly words, which disperse after a prayer, while if written they accumulate and shine their power for a long time and achieve a much stronger effect.

An ancient rule is that talismans are created using an ink made out of saffron, in which one can add an explicit note of perfume or a few drops of rose water. The reason for this is of course practical and it is based on the belief that good beings, primarily angels, respond to a call which has a pleasant smell. That’s why it is forbidden to eat garlic or onions before a prayer and before creating a talisman or amulet, physical impurity and all those things which have to do with tidiness and pleasant sensations.

In rituals of talisman or amulet creation, fumigation is inevitable. Application of fragrances is a constituent of middle eastern religious-magical teachings and that segment is found in the tradition of BiH. Namely, in Bosnian mythology a legend about the big celestial bird is mentioned Haramki which was convicted by Allah, because of its arrogance, to be constantly in flight, without the possibility of landing on earth or a tree. In the past our grandparents had a custom of pealing an apple or orange, and place the peel on the hot stove to feed the celestial bird with that smoke and to do a good deed.

Amulet - the guardian of luck

In Bosnian magic tradition there are numerous ways of defending oneself from negative energy (black magic, evil eyes, demons) but the use of amulets is considered to be especially efficient and effective. Wearing the amulet, besides having an effect on the physical body and aura, has a psychological effect since it gives additional dose of security and self-confidence to the wearer. According to traditional belief it is recommended for every man to wear an amulet in order to be protected from negative energy with which he comes into contact with daily, especially when coming into contact with other people.

Every man has his own destiny, whose course is mostly dominated by luck, but, that positive energy is often blocked by other people with their negative emotions, especially jealousy or black magic. Then the life force of the man can often be blocked and he usually acts only with 50% of his capacity and he doesn't achieve significant results. He constantly has the same negative things occur to him, failures and accidents. The person cannot find an adequate love partner, have business success or he is often sick. That of course has direct effect on the psyche which results in lack of self-confidence, depression, anxious, increased stress, etc. The thing which is especially important when using an amulet is the fact that it has the same effect on the person that believes in its power and on the one that is suspicious.

The content of the amulet, hirz or hijab, is varied and depends mostly on the spiritual knowledge of the one creating it that's why we come across amulets with only one or numerous prayers, amulets with magical squares and certain quotes from the Qur'an, amulets with letters, figures of a human, sword, snake, or amulets with all of the above. In a text amulets of an unknown mage the use and function of the amulet is best described: "To protect from the devil, Jinn, wizard, afrits, against attack, pain, disease of eyes, headaches, weakness, red wind (Erizipel), fever and every disease. The best protection is with Allah. The Merciful always forgives. There is neither power nor strength, only with God, Magnificent and Omnipotent!"

Though it has the power to act in all the mentioned segments people use it mostly if they were victims of a magical attack or they feel that they could become victims. That's why an amulet is always constructed when a man desires to do so, in order to obtain immunity against the negative effect of other people, or as a mandatory rule after the process of elimination of black magic, in order to protect oneself and prevent a possible return of magic.

Namely, like good, evil is also an indestructible energy which can only be moved or transferred onto another person or location. That practice is very famous in Bosnian tradition and the targets of such occult transmissions were usually special categories of people such as "women whose hair is falling out", "men that are going to the mosque", "people separating in a flea market", etc. A strict rule that everyone must follow is that evil mustn't be directed at children nor pregnant women. Rather than everything mentioned the practitioner of white magic directs all negative energy onto abandoned houses or mills or generally "to the dark Hawaii", mythological wasteland, where no sound is heard and where there is no fertility.

Though generally there is a belief that amulet against evil can be created at any time of the day or night, there are still certain preferences which the Bosnian mages adhere to, namely, amulet is traditionally always waited for, i.e. the client has ordered it and after 15 or 30 days he gets it. The reason for this is that in Bosnia it is constructed in the second half of the lunar cycle, last 14 days prior to the lunar cycle, always after midnight. In that way it receives a specific power of protection and elimination of every magical effect.

Since the amulet, at least for the first 40 days, must be in contact with the body, the mage folds the paper he used to write and draw symbols into a shape of a triangle, then it is wrapped in sticky tape and subsequently wrapped in a red cloth, or red cloth bag, and after the expiration of that period it can be carried in the wallet or purse. To the question, why is the bodily contact necessary for the initial 40 days, the simplest answer is that this number represents symbols of physical and spiritual regeneration, but also fate, and that's why it is very present in the tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Text, i.e. the content of the amulet must not come into contact with dust or moisture, that's why it must be protected by sticky tape, so that it's owner can go to the toilet or other places which are considered to be unclean. With the amulet as an addition one often places a leaf of nacre (Ruta graveolens) because of its apotropaic characteristics. It is mandatory to bathe it in smoke from the root of elecampane (Inula helenium) using a special formula.

Every time when the amulet is given to the client, the mage or Imam warns him that he must take care of it since it can lose its power of protection  if someone accidentally or on purpose punctures it with a needle and in such a manner it disrupts its content. That's why an amulet is always taken care of. Similarly, if someone steals your amulet then they can hurt you with black magic.

Besides it having a function to protect from negative energy the amulet is very efficient against diseases but also negative propaganda. Today, as in the past, many companies as well as business people order amulets in order to protect their business space from hate and jealousy of the competition which often uses black magic to destroy their enemies.

There are a few type of amulets: for the protection of individuals, protection of the house, business object, for the protection of the land, etc. If the amulet is being constructed for a person from the family which doesn't want to carry it with herself then the amulet is constructed using a small picture of the owner and is wrapped in a special cloth, coated in wax, then it is positioned above the bed which the man uses to sleep. From that place it will protect him from black magic and attack from the Jinn (demon's).     

Method against black magic

This is a protection to counter other charms. If somebody wants to harm you with an amulet, this will make that amulet useless.The following is to be written on a tree/stick, then the writing should be washed and drunk. By the power of God, this will weaken other charms and the work of jinns and of man.
Surat al-Hamd [ie, Surat al-Fatiha] should be written on Sunday and Monday morning. Write also Surat al Najm on Monday. On Tuesday, write Surat al-Hamd and Surat al Tawbah. On Wednesday, write al-Hamd and Surat al Shams all of it. Then on Thursday, write al-Hamd and Surat al-Tin all of it. Then on Friday write al- Hamd and "In the Night of Power" [ie, Surat al-Qadr], And on Saturday write al-Hamd and al-Ikhlas and al-Mu'awwidhatayn [ie, Surat al-Falaq and Surat al-Nas. Then on Sunday write al-Hamd.
You should wash all these written verses of the Qur'an and wash your body with it and it will make all counter-charms ineffective. You should also read the following: "In God do I take refuge“.
