 The power and effectiveness of talismans largely depend on the individual who creates them. If the maker is knowledgeable about ancient teachings, utilizes the correct techniques for crafting, understands astrology, and incorporates the most effective symbols and texts, then the preparation of the talisman will be well-structured, meaningful, and capable of achieving the desired outcome.

Angels guard the one who wears the amulet

 There is probably no person who does not know what a talisman or amulet (zapis or hamajlija on Bosnian language), is. It is a short or long text filled with certain prayers, signs, and squares, the purpose of which is to protect its wearer from magical attacks. Some amulets are made to protect people and amulets to protect to home called home talismans (kućna zaštita or kućna hamajlija). In addition to them, amulets are often made to protect and guard the business premises from malicious competition and envious people. 

According to the principles of spiritual science, the main amulets or hamajlije can be written on certain days and hours. Therefore, all this work can last a relatively long period, sometimes even a month or two, i fit is a large amulet. Just as devils (Jinns) are inseparable from magic and sorcery, so angels (Meleks) are inseparable from amulets themselves. Namely, is every high-quality and effective amulet, one or more names of angels are written. As exalted and pure beings, angels do not want to guard an impure person, especially one who does not wash after defecation, or sexual intercourse, or a woman who does not keep herself tidy during her menstrual cycle.

Therefore, each amulet, i.e. its text, must be protected from contact with water, sweat, and impurity, by being covered with duct tape or imported into a bag made of animal skin. Otherwise, the first trip to the toilet with an unprotected amulet causes its desecration and takes away its prophylactic power. Some esotericisms recommend wrapping the amulet with the thread with which its owner was previously measured from the top of the head to the toes. This measure is torn off from the rest of the thread and it is carefully wrapped around the amulet folded into the shape of a small square or triangle. And the end, a knot is tied. After that, the amulet must never be opened again. Like everything else around us, the contents of the amulet fade after some time, and individual letters or symbols lose their color or disappear, so the amulet weakens or completely loses its protective power. That is why it is recommended to replace the old amulet eith a new one every nine years.

LIBERATING A PERSON FROM SPIRIT POSSESSION

 A person's suspicion that he is possessed by demons is a consequence of a change in consciousness. Such a situation occurs when the level of salt in the blood is higher than sugar. Namely, when salt-rich blood reaches the brain through the circulatory system, the function of about two million cells that control the sensitivity of the mind deteriorates.

After the appearance of the new moon on the first Sunday, the woman should cut off all the nails on her hands and feet and pull out a few hairs from her head and a few hairs from her genitals. Then she should bury it all together under a young tree, among the roots, which, when it grows enough, will bear fruit like a pear or an apple. After that, the person will receive an amulet from a wise woman, in fact a miniature bag made of red cloth with a small piece of Taxus baccata wood, a little salt and sugar. The person who received the amulet should wear it with them for seven days, in contact with the skin of the body, and then it should be left on a shelf on the wall in the house, or on top of the closet. And it stays there for a long time without moving.

Threading (passing) through the amulet

According to Bosnian Imam’s the following instruction for the usage of a hollow amulet has been constructed:

-For an amulet to work the owner must pass it over him three times, or to wait for 21 days when it will start working by itself on him and his family.

-Traditions tied to this amulet stipulate that all family members have to pass the amulet three times over them, similarly, the ancient rules stipulate that each person is passed through it individually as many times as the person’s age, three days in a row, so that it has a full effect on them.

-Who ever believes in Allah, and possesses this amulet, will be protected from all troubles in this world, which are inflicted by people and demons. Three days in a row the person needs to be passed through the amulet three times.

-Whoever possesses this amulet, his provisions and good fortune will increase with god’s will.



-Whoever possesses this amulet, will be free from all suffering and ills which are caused by people and Jinn. For this purpose one needs to thread the amulet two times per month.

-Whoever carries this amulet will not fall ill from no great disease nor will have cholera. One needs to pass through the amulet every six months, seven times through the amulet for seven days.

-If one has a wish which is hard to achieve Allah will ease the realization of the wish if he passes through the amulet 11 times, between midnight and 1 o’clock in the morning.

-Whoever possesses this amulet will be protected by evil doers and their evil acts and similarly his property will be protected from the evil caused by people and Jinn.

-Whoever has this amulet will achieve all his goals and intentions with god’s help, and if he has issues with the court and court decisions, Allah will help him come out as the winner in all disputes which are aimed against him. In that case one needs to pass through the amulet 15 days in a row, three times a day.

-If someone falls ill from dangerous diseases such as a tumour, cancer, tuberculosis, etc. one needs to pass through the amulet 41 times for 41 days.

-When the temperature is raised among the persons who carry the amulet, one needs to pass through the amulet three times and with god’s help the temperature will disappear.

-This amulet is used for a lot of things which torture and haunt the person, it helps him come out as the winner, protects him from human and Jinn evil, evil doers, i.e. in one sentence it protects him and helps him fight 99 different ailments and troubles,  and similarly brings 99 different benefits such as health, good fortune, revenues, etc.

Numerous rules and advice

For fumigation during the use of talismans, but also after it, oriental textbooks of talisman magic often require the use of fragranced resins, roots and incense which are inaccessible for our climate and it is necessary to be more agile and find high quality substitutes which will not disturb the content of the talisman and its purpose. Bosnian experts for amulet creation have found an ideal substitute in pine needles (Pinus) whose smell summons spiritual energy.

Like everything else, most people understand the talisman science only superficially and they believe that it is enough to re-write some content with a plain pencil, at no specific time, and then they wonder why the talisman didn’t work?! The biggest mistake is done by those who write verses of Qur’an with a ballpoint pen, since a percentage of the ink in such pencils has alcohol in it, which is strictly forbidden by the Qur’an. With this their amulets can be a tool of some evil forces and bring more issues than good to the owner. Because of insufficient education in spiritual science the so called masters of talisman science, besides knowingly deceiving their clients, they also attract evil forces which sooner or later overtake them and place their sphere of influence over them.

There are days in every lunar or Arabic month which are evil and negative and one shouldn’t practice talisman sciences during those months. Similarly, one needs to know the astrological sign in which the future owner of the talisman is born, since there are rules there as well about inscription days. The only exception is the sign of the Leo, for which there are no restrictions for any of the lunar months. With that, the inscriber must follow the movements of the houses of the moon (stations), so he is informed about the state in the sky, which is not always benevolent towards actions and undertakings on earth.

In order to create a usable talisman one must follow numerous rules from the precise hour, day, smell, prayer, etc. Similarly, talismans mustn’t be written in certain days and before one even starts to think about it one must check, according to the date of birth, which days are not favourable for that person i.e. in which days one cannot write talismans for it. Actually, I would like to tell you shortly that creation of amulets is not an easy task and besides knowledge it also requires physical effort. That’s why there are only a few good creators of talismans and they’re in no hurry, each client is marked and on hold until the necessary conditions for work for that specific amulet are created. An amulet whose content is nothing more than useless squiggly lines, copied text or a text written with a ballpoint pen is useless and they have no real power.

Today it is similarly possible to see in printed media, other media as well, ads in which women, so called clairvoyants or “witches” claim that they create amulets and talismans and with that they publicly reveal that they don’t even have the basic knowledge about the talisman science. Namely, in Arabic-Persian science about amulets it is strictly emphasized that a woman cannot create an amulet, only a man cam. Reasons for this are clear and justified and the most basic one is that a woman due to her menstrual cycle and birth simply doesn’t have a high enough level of cleanliness to satisfy extremely demanding rules. It is no less important to emphasize another fact for which women are ostracised from talisman magic. Namely, Jinn cultivate a special affinity towards human females and they’re trying to get close to them in every possible way, in order to possess them and feed from the smell of the menstrual blood or even worse to sexually fornicate with them while they’re sleeping. From everything that we said it is easy to conclude that most of those women which perform some type of magic are possessed with one or more invisible beings. Such women often have headaches, “stinging” across the back, sudden pain, have menstrual issues, nightmares,…

As instructions requires individual talismans are left overnight outside after they have been written, in order to “absorb” astral light, or they are hung on a tree branch, buried near a river or stream, burned in a fire and the ashes are placed on a palm and scattered by the wind, etc. Besides, there are warnings which talismans cannot be exposed to sun or moon light, which cannot be near a dog, woman and the like.

Amulet – protection from evil people

It is necessary to write something about amulets as well, whose main and only purpose is to protect us from all forms of negative energy and evil. Before creation of an amulet it is advisable to check with the help of the method of spiritual numerology if the client is especially young, “open” or “closed” destiny or luck, since in the case of a positive answer one must write a talisman for opening of destiny or better to say – freeing life energy. In my opinion an amulet is necessary to us all so that a person could thread securely through life without danger of being blocked by some negative energy. When there are no such obstacles a man can use his potential and abilities without issues in order to get by in life. Of course there are lazy people, without a desire to fight or work, and to those people not even an amulet can change their destiny for the better, since they themselves don’t desire a change.

 

The most frequent effect of negative energy on a human being is not manifested in a sensational way it is usually perfidious and hidden. Under the influence of magic, spells, possession or something else a person is losing energy too quickly, he suddenly droops and is faint, he doesn’t feel like doing anything, is sleepy and without desire. When he decides to do something, he starts and gives up quickly. They are usually the most frequent symptoms of someone being under the influence of evil.

 

Of course, besides the mentioned other indicators can appear such as frequent headaches, bad sleep, loss of immunity and the like. In order to get rid of it, it is necessary to “close” holes in the aura through which invisible entities drain human life energy and one needs to renew and strengthen energetic field. This can be achieved in numerous ways but through tradition of spiritual medicine amulets have been shown as the most effective. In the practical part of elimination and cleansing from evil small, content short talismans have been shown to be the most effective, these talismans are usually written by saffron ink mixed with rose water, the amulets are submerged into a bottle of clear water and the water is then drunk. Usually this water is drunk three days in a row, in the morning and evening, when the body is cleansed from negative energy and is slowly returning to harmony.

 

In contrast, amulet which will be carried on the body or kept above the sheets on the wall can be written by coloured ink, usually red, black or green, whose content cannot be seen by the future owner. Actually, besides the creator of the amulet, no one can see the content of the amulet. The reason for such a relationship is that forces of good are summoned when the amulet is written and between the inscriber and the forces there cannot be a third person. Namely, in the ritual of amulet creation, clean materials are stressed i.e. clean energies: one writes on an unused paper, incense and a new white candle is being lit, the time of inscription is dawn, the purest part of the day, the inscriber must be physically clean, etc. The one constructing the amulet cannot be brought into danger that a presence of someone can violate the spiritual harmony and to invalidate all of his efforts, which can happen easily if the client is in the state of physical impurity or under the influence of negative energy.

 

Regular alms giving (sadaka) is an inseparable segment of talisman magic. In Bosnian tradition there is a belief about the term “nafakali ruka” or “lucky hand” – which is tied to successful stravarke or Imam’s. It is claimed that they with the help of God can help anyone who asks for their help and they are very successful in curing and chasing away evil from humans. One mustn’t be stingy or greedy since nothing on this beautiful planet is ours, we are here only temporarily, and that’s why we cannot usurp something which doesn’t belong to us. The essence of love and life is in sharing and helping, what makes us human in the end, and with which we are summoning great amounts of positive energy. It helps us feel better, to be happier and healthier, to handle life challenges much more easily, look better, be less under stress, attract positive people, etc. Mainly, benefits are many fold.

 

Remember, a stingy man is not a good believer nor a good soul. They are energetically destructive people for their environment and usually all those people which are in contact with them have a closed destiny i.e. it is blocked. They are the carriers of bad energy and often times it occurs that anyone who does business with them in any way suffers a series of bad luck and losses. Among the people it is usually said that they are “heavy” – bad tempered and full of negative energy. It is recommended to have an amulet because of these people.

 

I’m enumerating all these things informatively to first and foremost warn those individuals which for some reason, usually material, want to deal with this doctrine, they should initially study the theory and understand the responsibility and danger which comes with this miraculous skills, for which I believe stems from the ancient cult of communication with invisible beings, which existed from the dawn of mankind.  

SOME IMPORTANT RULES

Rule 1 : Lawful livelihood, truth and virtuous deeds are essential for one who practises it.

Rule 2 : Keeping pure intent, keeping away evil thoughts of Satan and attentiveness to Allah are some of the essential tenets to be followed by one who practises spells or writes an amulet. 

Rule 3 : Keeping in mind the position of stars and moments is but essential for one who practises spell or writes an amulet.

Rule 4 : Muttering a spell or writing an amulet for love should be undertaken in the beginning of a month, on Thursday or Friday in the period of Jupiter or Venus.

Rule 5 : Performing ablution is essential for muttering a spell or writing an amulet.

Rule 6 : One should select a spot for muttering a spell and even the prayer-carpet be a selected one. 

Amulet - the guardian of luck

In Bosnian magic tradition there are numerous ways of defending oneself from negative energy (black magic, evil eyes, demons) but the use of amulets is considered to be especially efficient and effective. Wearing the amulet, besides having an effect on the physical body and aura, has a psychological effect since it gives additional dose of security and self-confidence to the wearer. According to traditional belief it is recommended for every man to wear an amulet in order to be protected from negative energy with which he comes into contact with daily, especially when coming into contact with other people.

Every man has his own destiny, whose course is mostly dominated by luck, but, that positive energy is often blocked by other people with their negative emotions, especially jealousy or black magic. Then the life force of the man can often be blocked and he usually acts only with 50% of his capacity and he doesn't achieve significant results. He constantly has the same negative things occur to him, failures and accidents. The person cannot find an adequate love partner, have business success or he is often sick. That of course has direct effect on the psyche which results in lack of self-confidence, depression, anxious, increased stress, etc. The thing which is especially important when using an amulet is the fact that it has the same effect on the person that believes in its power and on the one that is suspicious.

The content of the amulet, hirz or hijab, is varied and depends mostly on the spiritual knowledge of the one creating it that's why we come across amulets with only one or numerous prayers, amulets with magical squares and certain quotes from the Qur'an, amulets with letters, figures of a human, sword, snake, or amulets with all of the above. In a text amulets of an unknown mage the use and function of the amulet is best described: "To protect from the devil, Jinn, wizard, afrits, against attack, pain, disease of eyes, headaches, weakness, red wind (Erizipel), fever and every disease. The best protection is with Allah. The Merciful always forgives. There is neither power nor strength, only with God, Magnificent and Omnipotent!"

Though it has the power to act in all the mentioned segments people use it mostly if they were victims of a magical attack or they feel that they could become victims. That's why an amulet is always constructed when a man desires to do so, in order to obtain immunity against the negative effect of other people, or as a mandatory rule after the process of elimination of black magic, in order to protect oneself and prevent a possible return of magic.

Namely, like good, evil is also an indestructible energy which can only be moved or transferred onto another person or location. That practice is very famous in Bosnian tradition and the targets of such occult transmissions were usually special categories of people such as "women whose hair is falling out", "men that are going to the mosque", "people separating in a flea market", etc. A strict rule that everyone must follow is that evil mustn't be directed at children nor pregnant women. Rather than everything mentioned the practitioner of white magic directs all negative energy onto abandoned houses or mills or generally "to the dark Hawaii", mythological wasteland, where no sound is heard and where there is no fertility.

Though generally there is a belief that amulet against evil can be created at any time of the day or night, there are still certain preferences which the Bosnian mages adhere to, namely, amulet is traditionally always waited for, i.e. the client has ordered it and after 15 or 30 days he gets it. The reason for this is that in Bosnia it is constructed in the second half of the lunar cycle, last 14 days prior to the lunar cycle, always after midnight. In that way it receives a specific power of protection and elimination of every magical effect.

Since the amulet, at least for the first 40 days, must be in contact with the body, the mage folds the paper he used to write and draw symbols into a shape of a triangle, then it is wrapped in sticky tape and subsequently wrapped in a red cloth, or red cloth bag, and after the expiration of that period it can be carried in the wallet or purse. To the question, why is the bodily contact necessary for the initial 40 days, the simplest answer is that this number represents symbols of physical and spiritual regeneration, but also fate, and that's why it is very present in the tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Text, i.e. the content of the amulet must not come into contact with dust or moisture, that's why it must be protected by sticky tape, so that it's owner can go to the toilet or other places which are considered to be unclean. With the amulet as an addition one often places a leaf of nacre (Ruta graveolens) because of its apotropaic characteristics. It is mandatory to bathe it in smoke from the root of elecampane (Inula helenium) using a special formula.

Every time when the amulet is given to the client, the mage or Imam warns him that he must take care of it since it can lose its power of protection  if someone accidentally or on purpose punctures it with a needle and in such a manner it disrupts its content. That's why an amulet is always taken care of. Similarly, if someone steals your amulet then they can hurt you with black magic.

Besides it having a function to protect from negative energy the amulet is very efficient against diseases but also negative propaganda. Today, as in the past, many companies as well as business people order amulets in order to protect their business space from hate and jealousy of the competition which often uses black magic to destroy their enemies.
