In the creation of inscriptions and amulets (talismans and amulets), the most critical requirements include physical purity, piety, fear of God, specific knowledge of the spiritual world, the efficacy of prayers and unique letters, an understanding of astrology, and, finally, the proper ink and pen. In the following text, I will touch upon some of these detailed aspects.
WRITING INK
The most famous, and consequently the most widely used, ink for writing talismans is saffron ink (to which rosewater and musk are added). It is primarily used for making love talismans as well as those for healing from magic. In fact, since ancient times, Arabs have believed that saffron, besides its culinary qualities, possesses a natural power to remove negative energy (magic, demons) from the human body. Therefore, it quite logically found its exorcistic application in spiritual healing.
These are some of its healing properties:
- Neutralizes magic that a person has ingested through food or drink.
- Treats epilepsy, but only in its earliest stages.
- Removes magic if the afflicted person bathes in water in which a talisman written with saffron ink has been previously dissolved.
- Acts as a remedy against the evil eye and curses.
- Aids in the treatment of cancer.
- Serves as a cure for both organic and psychological illnesses.
- Is used to resolve marital problems caused by magic.
- Eliminates infertility if it is the result of magical influence.
THE PEN FOR WRITING AMULETS
Supplies for talismans include: a pen, black ink, or paper, and for certain amulets, knowledge of the rules and customs of writing is also essential to achieve the full effect. The pen should be purchased with halal money. Furthermore, one should strive to use a reed or wooden stalk pen (a wooden pen) for talismans that has not been previously used for writing. Some practitioners claim that for auspicious deeds (benevolent amulets), one should have a special pen made from jasmine or pomegranate wood. Conversely, a person making amulets to destroy evil deeds (counter-magic) should use a pen made from bitter wood or wild olive.
The method for sharpening the pen is as follows: at the very beginning, recite Salavat (blessings upon the Prophet) 11 times, and after that, recite Surah Al-Hamd (Al-Fatiha) 7 times. Only then should you sharpen the pen. If you are making a talisman for love and affection, sharpen the tip of the pen from the right side inward. If you are making an amulet for enmity, sharpen it from the other (left) side outward, and during the sharpening process, do not place the pen on the ground until the shaping of the tip is complete. When crafting the pen, utter at that moment: "I seek help from You, O Living, O Eternal (Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum)." One of the most important rules is that the person writing the talismans must be right-handed, as left-handed individuals are not preferred for this practice.
THE SEAL OF MUHAMMAD AGAINST EVIL
This is the seal of Muhammad, the Messenger of God. It is effective (helpful) against evil jinn and every other form of evil. It is frequently combined with Quranic text or specific supplications (duas) to further reinforce the power of the seal.
